From next year, yacht owners will be even better insured against all eventualities. With Yacht Assistance, the Munich specialist broker for yacht insurance, Bavaria GmbH, will offer all customers with fully comprehensive yacht insurance a free service package from the beginning of 2010. This extends the previous comprehensive insurance cover with numerous services and thus offers more effective cover and service for yacht owners for the same premium.
Every skipper knows the multitude of problems that could arise during a trip – from cases of distress, theft and related financial challenges, through to medical care and dealing with authorities in foreign countries. And last but not least, there is the question: Who will inform relatives and employers in an emergency? With Bavaria Yacht Assistance, such concerns will be a thing of the past.
When in distress at sea and with other accidents, rapid response is crucial. Here, Bavaria Yacht Assistance ensures fast settlement of the costs which arise from rescue operations, repairs or legal consultation. If a deposit is required because of seizure, this is provided by means of a short-term loan. In the event of a burglary or theft, yacht owners are assisted with replacement purchases, accommodation costs and a cash service. And medical care is also covered. In the event of illness or injury, policyholders receive information about the nearest (specialist) doctor or hospital, and the policyholder’s own doctor is also contacted. If, due to the medical situation, it is not possible to proceed with one’s own yacht, a replacement skipper, who takes over the transit to the home port, is also organised.
In future, informing relatives or employers in cases of emergency will also no longer be a problem – within the framework of Bavaria Yacht Assistance, the insurer guarantees the forwarding of all relevant information. And yacht owners no longer need to fear language barriers. In non-German-speaking countries, policyholders are supported when dealing with authorities and other important bodies.
